About

Minseo Jung is a senior at Illinois Mathematics and Science Academy (IMSA). She is passionate about creating data-driven solutions to social issues (e.g., public policy, global affairs, business, or STEM education). She has several research experiences in quantitative research, qualitative research, or mixed research using data analysis skills. As a founder and president of Youth Open Innovation at IMSA, she has published one research article and given five research presentations at international conferences, applying open innovation to STEM education. With the support of the IMSA, she created a research curriculum and taught 60+ students how to research with open innovation. She led and mentored research teams to present their research at international conferences and four teams received awards. Her recent interest is to create a STEM curriculum that can guide children in Uganda. She is also passionate about music especially violin and piano. She is now a member of the Chicago Youth Symphony Orchestra as well as the concertmaster of the IMSA symphony orchestra. Emily loves teaching violin and math. Her music performances (over 70) can be seen on YouTube.
