Elizabeth Nyamwange

Elizabeth Nyamawnge is a student, developer, researcher, and gender-equality activist. She is most commonly known for her invention of a device, Etana, that uses blockchain technology to provide women in low-infrastructure environments with identification. She has worked with companies such as Safaricom and Visa and has appeared on NPR, Seventeen Magazine, Yahoo, etc. Elizabeth also works as a youth advisor on gender and economic development for the United Nations and is currently conducting research at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital with Harvard Medical School with research experience in computational sociology and data science.
